From across the yard you can see how this deck and the stamped concrete patio work together. The deck sits up next to the house, and the steps lead down to the patio, giving the family two outdoor spaces that flow into each other.

Black railings run along the edge of the grey deck and down the side of the stairs. The colours tie in with the stone and the dark roof, and the deck is sized to leave plenty of patio space for a table and an umbrella.

When a deck sits beside a stamped concrete patio, the step down between them matters. A wide, comfortable set of stairs makes it easy to carry food and drinks back and forth, which is something we think about on every deck we design at our shop in Fergus.
