A fireplace is often the heart of a room, and the right mantel turns it into a true centrepiece. Craig Palmer is a Licensed Cabinet Maker based in Fergus, and he built every one of the fireplace mantels on this page, more than 120 projects and counting.

We design, build and install custom fireplace mantels for homes in Fergus, Elora and Guelph, and our mantel work also reaches Belwood, Arkell, Drayton, Breslau, Orangeville and Palmerston. No two mantels are alike. Some are crisp white surrounds with classic trim detail. Others are clean, modern designs, like a minimalist mantel wrapped around a three-sided electric fireplace. Some pair a white surround with a solid wood mantel and matching floating shelves, and others are built to frame the fireplace with a TV mounted above.

Every custom mantel starts with your ideas. Craig will listen to what you want, give you honest feedback and bring a sharp eye for detail to the proportions, trim and finish, so the result fits your room and stands the test of time. If you’d like storage and display space around the fireplace too, have a look at our built-in wall units.
