A fireplace should be more than just a source of warmth. It should be the focal point of the room.

For this homeowner in Palmerston, Ontario, Palmer’s Woodworking designed, built, and installed a custom fireplace feature that blends clean, contemporary design with natural wood accents. The crisp white surround is complemented by a solid wood mantel and matching floating shelves, creating a balanced look that offers both display space and timeless style.

The result is a custom-built feature wall that transforms the living room into a warm, inviting space while providing the perfect place for décor, family photos, and everyday living.

Whether your style is modern, traditional, or somewhere in between, Palmer’s Woodworking creates custom fireplace surrounds and built-ins that are designed to fit your home perfectly.

The floating shelves sit on each side of the surround at two heights, so there’s room for plants, books and photos without cluttering the mantel itself. The linear fireplace keeps the look modern, and the dark mantel shelf gives the white surround a strong line across the middle.
