Sheds #9
This octagonal shed stands at the side of the house, where its many sided shape fits neatly into the yard. A wood shake roof rises to a small cupola, and a window on the front lets light in.
On one side, a door with black strap hinges opens to the inside, and a barbecue under its cover sits just in front. It’s a handy spot to keep grilling tools, bags of charcoal and outdoor gear.
The natural wood siding has a warm, golden colour that looks lovely with the green of the trees and the stucco of the house. Each corner is trimmed cleanly where the walls meet.
Building a shed with eight sides takes careful cutting and fitting, but the result is a building that looks like a little garden pavilion rather than a plain box.
See the same shed from the front as well.
