Good storage is what makes a kitchen easy to live with every day. These custom kitchen cabinets in Algonquin Highlands, Ontario give the family plenty of room for everything, without losing the bright, open feel of the space.

Palmer’s Woodworking built the white shaker cabinetry that runs around the room. On the left, tall cabinets frame a recessed nook with lit open shelves and white tile, a perfect spot for the coffee maker and everyday dishes. At the back, panelled fronts help the refrigerator blend into the cabinet wall.

To the right, upper and lower cabinets with under-cabinet lighting add even more storage and a warm glow over the countertop. In the middle of it all, the blue-grey island adds a farmhouse sink, extra drawers and a spot to pull up a stool.

Crisp white doors, warm wood floors and soft lighting give this kitchen a timeless look that will feel fresh for years to come.

You can also see the view down the length of the island from this same kitchen.
