An octagonal screened gazebo brings a touch of charm to any yard. This one stands on a raised deck that wraps around toward the house, giving the family a sheltered outdoor room just steps from the back door.

Arched trim pieces sit at the top of each opening, and screens fill the spaces between the posts. A wood railing runs around the bottom, with evenly spaced spindles that give it a classic look.

Overhead, the shingled roof rises to a cupola with its own little roof. Inside, the open rafters meet at the centre, so the gazebo feels tall and airy.

The deck is built level and sturdy on solid wood posts, with a low step down to the lawn. A split rail fence and tall evergreens frame the scene behind.

From the same project, see the gazebo with the hot tub deck.
