Decks #88

Raised wood deck with stairs down to the lawn, wood railings and spindles, and wood skirting at the back of a brick house, designed, built and installed by Palmer's Woodworking of Fergus, Ontario.

This raised deck with stairs sits off the back of a brick house, giving the family a place to step outside from the main floor. A straight run of stairs leads down to the lawn, with railings on both sides.

The railings and spindles are all wood, which gives the deck a classic, natural look. Wood skirting closes in the base, so the deck looks neat and finished from the yard.

A raised deck with stairs is one of the most common decks we build, but each one is made to fit the house and the yard. We plan the height, the stairs and the railings at our shop in Fergus before we start.

From the side you can see how the stairs line up with the deck, and how the skirting carries the same warm wood all the way to the ground. Off in the background, the neighbouring yards stay open and green.

See the stairs from the front for another view, or look at custom raised decks from other projects.
