Decks #93
These deck stairs off the sunroom lead down to the interlock patio, connecting the deck with the lower part of the yard. The stairs sit right beside the glass of the sunroom, so the deck and the house feel tied together.
Railings with black balusters line both sides of the stairs, and wood skirting closes in the base. At the top, you can see the deck and the pergola-topped screen in the distance.
When there’s a sunroom on the back of the house, the deck stairs need to fit around it neatly. We planned the layout so the stairs land right where the patio begins. It’s part of a larger deck we built at Palmer’s Woodworking in Fergus.
Down at the bottom, the stairs land right on the patio, and a potted plant at the bottom brings a bit of colour to the wood.
See the stairs and pergola from the lower deck for another view. You’ll find more of our decks in the portfolio.
