Decks #92
This raised wood deck sits along a brick house with a bay window. Wood railings with black balusters wrap the front, and a tall privacy screen with a lattice top stands at the far end.
Below the deck, vertical board skirting closes in the space underneath, giving the deck a solid, finished look from the lawn. The warm wood contrasts nicely with the red brick and the green grass.
A deck with board skirting looks more complete than one left open underneath, and it keeps leaves and critters out too. It’s a detail we add to many of the decks we build from our shop in Fergus.
The privacy screen sits at the far end of the deck, and its lattice top keeps the wall from feeling too heavy. Seen from the yard, the whole deck looks solid and well proportioned.
See the low deck at the corner of the house from this same project. There are plenty more decks to browse in our portfolio.
