This TV wall unit stretches the length of the room. Tall white bookcases with open shelves stand at each end, and a long run of low cabinets and drawers joins them, topped with a warm wood countertop.

The TV hangs on the wall in the middle, so the media gear and remotes can live in the drawers below. The wood top adds warmth to the white paint and gives a surface for lamps, speakers and photos.

It’s a good example of how one long built-in can give a family room both storage and display space.

The crown moulding on the bookcases matches the room’s trim, and the drawer fronts line up across the whole run, so the unit looks tidy from every angle. With the mix of open shelves, cabinets and drawers, every part of the wall has a job to do.
