We designed, built and installed this custom wall unit for our client in Fergus, Ontario.

This wall unit mixes two finishes. The upper section is a warm wood with open bookshelves on both sides and a wood-backed space in the middle for the TV, and the lower section is clean white cabinetry with a built-in electric fireplace set right into it.

The flat white doors give the bottom a simple, modern look, and the wood above brings warmth to the room. Putting the fireplace in the base means you get the glow of a fire without needing a chimney.

It’s a great way to give a family room a focal point, with storage, display shelves, the TV and the fireplace all in one built-in piece.

We built the wood bookcases in tall, even sections so the books and décor have room to breathe, and the white doors below open to plenty of space for media gear, games and blankets.

There are lots more ideas in our wall units portfolio.
