A wall unit we built and installed for a client in Elora, Ontario.

This fireplace wall unit pairs crisp white cabinets with warm wood. The tiled fireplace has a matching wood mantel with the TV mounted above, and beside it a run of white lower cabinets gives the room plenty of closed storage.

Above the cabinets, two wood floating shelves sit against a white plank wall, giving the homeowners a place for photos, candles and keepsakes. The wood on the shelves matches the mantel, which ties the two sides of the wall together.

It’s a great layout for a family room. The TV and fireplace share one side, the display shelves take the other, and everything still feels open and bright.

We kept the cabinet doors simple shaker panels with black pulls, so they don’t compete with the fireplace, and the white plank wall behind the shelves adds a little texture without adding colour.

There’s lots more to see in our custom wall units.
