We designed, built and installed this wall unit for our client in Belwood, ON.

This hall tree bench gives an entryway a proper drop zone. The tall white plank back has a row of black hooks for coats and bags, with a dark wood shelf above for hats and baskets.

Down below, the bench has a matching dark wood seat, so it’s comfortable for pulling on boots, and two drawers underneath hold mitts, scarves and hats. The dark wood and black hardware stand out against the white paint and give it a farmhouse feel.

A piece like this is a small project with a big payoff. It keeps the front door area organized every single day.

We sized the bench and the hooks so the whole family can use them, from the kids’ backpacks to the adults’ winter coats. The white plank back is easy to wipe clean, which matters near a busy door.
