Palmer’s Woodworking designed, built and installed this wall unit in Fergus. The white fireplace surround and mantel sit in the middle, with the TV mounted above, and low cabinets carry on to the side.

Under the big window, a long window seat with cushions gives the room a cozy spot to sit and read, and the drawers underneath add even more storage. It’s a great way to make use of the space below a window that would otherwise sit empty.

The white paint keeps the room bright, and the built-ins connect the fireplace and the window into one design that stretches along the whole wall.

Window seats like this one are a favourite with families. They give extra seating, a place to stash blankets and toys, and the best view in the house.

We matched the trim and the paint on every part of the built-in, so the fireplace, the cabinet and the window seat all look like they came together at once.
