Palmer’s Woodworking designed, built and installed these stone fireplace built-ins. A stacked stone chimney rises to the ceiling in the middle, with a rustic wood mantel and the TV above.

On each side, white cabinets with shaker doors give plenty of storage, and two dark wood floating shelves stretch across the wall above them. The dark wood picks up the colour of the mantel, so the room feels tied together.

Pot lights over the stone show off its texture, and the white cabinets keep the room bright.

Stone, white paint and rustic wood together give this room a warm, lodge-like feel that still looks clean and modern.

The shaker doors give the white cabinets a classic look. With the TV over the mantel and the shelves on each side, the whole wall is useful without feeling crowded. It’s a great example of mixing materials on a fireplace wall.
