Palmer’s Woodworking designed, built and installed this white fireplace wall unit. The stone fireplace sits in the middle under a white mantel, and above it there’s an open space framed by the built-ins.

On both sides, open shelves run above cabinets with shaker doors, and crown moulding across the top ties the whole wall together. The clean white finish lets the stone stand out.

Before the furniture and décor go in, you can really see the simple lines of a piece like this, and how the built-ins frame the fireplace on both sides.

This style works in so many homes. The shelves give room for books and photos, and the cabinets keep the clutter hidden away.

We added crown moulding along the top, and the shaker doors give the cabinets a classic, timeless look. The open area above the mantel is ready for a TV or a favourite piece of art.
