Sheds #1

Narrow side yard shed with a gable roof, a door with black strap hinges and a small window, beside a house, designed, built and installed by Palmer's Woodworking.

A narrow side yard shed is a smart way to use a strip of space that is too tight for much else. This one fits along the side of the house, with a gable roof, natural board siding and a small window.

The door has black strap hinges and a cross brace, and it opens on the end so you can reach everything inside. A gravel base keeps the ground around it dry and tidy.

Being so close to the house, the shed is handy for garden tools, bins and things you want close at hand. The natural wood looks warm against the grey siding and brick of the house.

A small building like this still needs the same care as a bigger one. The trim, the roof and the door all have to be built to stand up to the weather.

It’s proof that even an awkward strip of yard can be put to good use.
