We designed, built and installed this stone fireplace mantel with wood posts. Stacked stone runs up the wall around the black gas insert, and a dark wood mantel shelf runs across the stone.

Dark wood posts frame the fireplace on each side, so the stone and wood feel like one piece. The mix of grey, tan and brown in the stone works well with the dark wood.

Stone and wood are a classic pairing. The texture of the stone and the warmth of the wood make the fireplace feel solid and cozy, like a cabin in the heart of the home.

The mantel shelf gives the family a spot for a few decorations, and the posts give the whole fireplace a strong, finished frame.

Every fireplace is different, and we build each mantel to suit its size, style and setting.
