Custom doesn’t have to mean complicated. For this Fergus homeowner, we created two wall units that combines elegant cabinetry with three built-in dog kennels, giving their pets a comfortable home while keeping the entryway clean, organized, and beautiful. Designed, built, and installed by Palmer’s Woodworking.

Each of the three kennels has its own mesh door, so every dog gets a space of its own, and the mesh is set into proper cabinet frames so the whole front reads as furniture rather than a row of crates. The wood countertop on top gives a useful drop zone, right where you need it.

Above, tall cabinets with long brass pulls reach right up to the crown moulding, holding food, leashes and everything else that comes with the dogs. The soft green paint keeps it calm and fresh beside the glass doors and the patterned rug.
