Decks #86

Wide lit deck steps with small lights in the risers, a lattice screen on one side and railings with black balusters, designed, built and installed by Palmer's Woodworking of Fergus, Ontario.

These wide, lit deck steps lead up to the deck in wide, angled tiers. Small lights are set into the risers, so the steps are easy to see at night and glow softly after the sun goes down.

A lattice screen stands on one side of the steps, and wood railings with black balusters run up both sides. At the top, the corner of a pergola peeks into view.

Lit deck steps add safety and a bit of style. They help guests find their footing after dark, and they make the deck look inviting from the yard. We designed and built this at Palmer’s Woodworking in Fergus.

The steps get wider as they come down, so they’re easy to use and have a welcoming shape. The lattice adds privacy on that side and gives climbing plants something to grow on. It all fits with the brick of the house.
