Not every deck needs to be big to make a difference. This small wood deck sits right outside a set of French doors, giving the family a proper landing and a spot for a couple of chairs.

Wide steps run along the front and down one side, so you can step off in almost any direction, and short sections of railing with black balusters at the corners keep it tidy. The natural wood is a nice contrast to the warm colour of the siding.
